Just 48 hours after killing her son and another resident in Arak village, Sanga Local Government Area, Kaduna State, terrorists, known locally as bandits, abducted an old woman on Monday night in Southern Kaduna.
Mrs. Averik Arak, the victim, and her granddaughter were kidnapped. A devastating attack on the neighborhood on Saturday claimed the lives of her son, Habila Averik, the child’s father.
Newsmen stated that when the bandits returned on Monday night, the widow was still grieving for her son, who was allegedly slaughtered in front of her, along with his wife and children. It was reported that she was unwell when she was kidnapped.
Bandits abducted numerous villagers in the local government regions of Kajuru and Kauru in separate raids.
in least fifteen locals, the majority of whom were children, were kidnapped during a nighttime assault in Unguwan Sarki Maro in Kajuru.
at a similar vein, approximately sixteen locals were abducted at Kadage village, Kauru LGA, and one person was killed in the assault.
Between December 1, 2025, and January 4, 2026, bandits kidnapped over 100 people from seven nearby communities, according to a source from Kadage village.
The source also bemoaned what he called a lack of coverage in the media regarding the rise in murders and kidnappings in the region.
The Kaduna State Police Command had not released an official comment regarding the most recent events at the time this article was filed.
