The Ebonyi State Chapter of the Labour Party has expressed its unwavering confidence in Peter Obi, its presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, as the only competent leader capable of salvaging the Nigerian economy.
At an expanded stakeholders meeting in Abakaliki, the party urged Nigerians to join its quest for power and move the nation forward. The meeting was convened by members of the National Transition Committee (NTC), including Chief Fidelis Nwankwo, Rt. Hon. Linus Okorie, and Dr. Ezeh Emmanuel Ezeh.
In a communiqué issued after the meeting, the party declared Peter Obi the National Leader and expressed its support for his economic rescue plan. The party also resolved to conduct an all-inclusive state congress and national convention, and urged feuding stakeholders to unite for the party’s success.
The communiqué read, “His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi, remains the National Leader of the Party and he, Mr. Obi, is bestowed with the appropriate competences to salvage the Nigerian economy from its declining fortunes.”
Chief Fidelis Nwankwo was unanimously adopted as the leader of the Labour Party in Ebonyi State, and the party set a target of 400,000 registered members.
