A horrific incident has occurred in Umudosi, a community in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State, where a man identified as Amadi Alozie allegedly killed his mother with a cutlass and mutilated his son’s genitals for suspected ritual purposes.
According to eyewitnesses, the suspect’s son was the first victim of the gruesome attack, as Alozie allegedly pounced on him and cut his genitals, causing the boy to scream in agony. The mother, Mrs. Alozie, rushed to her grandson’s aid, but was met with a brutal attack by her son, who inflicted deep cuts on her with a cutlass, resulting in her death.
The son, who is currently receiving medical attention at a hospital, was lucky to have escaped with his life. However, the community is still reeling from the shock of the incident, with many wondering what could have driven the suspect to commit such a heinous crime.
Alozie’s attempt to escape from the scene was thwarted by youths in the community, who apprehended him and handed him over to the police for investigation and prosecution. The Abia State Police Command has confirmed the incident, with the Public Relations Officer, ASP Maureen Chinaka, stating: “We have such reports at Eastern Ngwa Divisional Headquarters. However, the victim has been rushed to the hospital, the suspect is in custody, investigation is ongoing.”
