The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted a three-day spell of rainy and thundery weather conditions across the country, starting from Monday to Wednesday.
According to the agency’s weather outlook released in Abuja on Sunday, the northern region will experience isolated thunderstorms over parts of Sokoto, Katsina, Kano, Kebbi, Zamfara, Kaduna, Adamawa, and Taraba states during Monday’s morning hours.
In the southern region, NiMet forecast intermittent rains over parts of Niger, Benue, Kogi, Kwara states, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) during the morning hours. Later in the day, localized rains are expected over parts of the FCT, Plateau, Niger, and Nasarawa states. “Isolated rains are expected over parts of Ebonyi, Enugu, Abia, Imo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, and Cross River states during the morning hours,” the agency stated.
On Tuesday, NiMet anticipated isolated thunderstorms over parts of Borno, Bauchi, Gombe, Adamawa, and Taraba states during the morning period. Later in the day, the agency envisaged isolated thunderstorms over parts of Bauchi, Gombe, Kaduna, Yobe, Zamfara, Sokoto, Borno, Taraba, Kebbi, Kano, and Jigawa states. “Rains are expected over parts of Benue, Kogi, the FCT, and Nasarawa states during the morning hours. Later in the day, isolated rains are expected over parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Plateau, Benue, Kwara, and Nasarawa states,” NiMet said.
For Wednesday, the agency predicted thunderstorms over parts of Kebbi, Bauchi, Sokoto, Borno, and Katsina states during the morning hours. “In the afternoon and evening hours, isolated thunderstorms are expected over parts of Kebbi, Katsina, Sokoto, Zamfara, Kebbi, Adamawa, Kano, and Taraba states. Morning rains are expected over parts of the Federal Capital Territory and Niger states,” NiMet stated.
