Afrobeats musician Davido lost his $50,000 wager on Nigeria to defeat Morocco in Wednesday’s African Cup of Nations semifinal match after the Super Eagles were defeated 4-2 on penalties by the Atlas Lions.
The musician revealed on social media a few hours before the game that he had bet $50,000 on the Super Eagles to defeat Morocco.
But when the game ended in a goalless draw during regulation time, he lost the wager.
After losing a $3,000 wager on Nigeria to defeat Morocco in ninety minutes, well-known Nigerian TikToker Peller has voiced his frustration.
“Thank you Super Eagles for playing very well,” he said sarcastically. “I have lost my $3,000 bet. You guys were playing well the previous games before I decided to place a bet and watch your match.
“Maybe, if I stop watching your games, you will start playing well again,” he lamented during a livestream on Wednesday night.
